Think you have what it takes to be Miss DC? Well you’re in luck, auditions are right around the corner! The winner will get a $6,000 academic scholarship, and the opportunity to represent DC at the Miss America Pageant, where the winner will receive a $50,000 scholarship and a year-long appearance contract. The deadline for applying is fast-approaching: February 16. Auditions are one week later on February 23. The actual pageant will take place on June 9 at Arena Stage. This is how my hypothetical Miss DC appearance would go:
Evening-wear portion (20%) This. It’s electrifying.
Swimsuit portion (15%) This? Or this. Or maybe this?
Talent portion (35%) Definitely this. Or possibly this (new game, take a sip every time he says ‘dance’. Blackout in moments).
Interview portion (25% personal interview, 5% on-stage question) This, no question. No alternatives.
