HFSC Study Break

unnamed

Looking for a cool way to spend the last Saturday night before finals?

Georgetown Program Board (GPB) is hosting a Carnival Arcade Study Break with Coca-Cola In the Healey Family Student Center from 9 p.m. to 1a.m. tonight.

Very importantly, there will be free food from Bulldog Tavern – sliders, fries, nachos and wings galore!

How can you resist?

There will also be arcade games like pool, skeeball and foosball available for all study breakers to play. This will be the perfect way to satisfy that vague desire to go to Chuck E. Cheese!

For all you crafty Hoyas out there, there will be opportunities to make your own Christmas ornaments, like the lovely one below:

In keeping with the overall theme, there will be carnival games like ring toss and balloon darts, as well as airbrush tattoos. Because no carnival is complete without some temporary tattoos, am I right?

You can also make your own gingerbread houses and help decorate the HFSC’s Christmas tree for a nice dose of holiday spirit.

The event will also feature a “Coca-Cola AHH Lounge” that gives students the chance to enjoy their ice-cold Cokes and talk about “what AHH means to them” via social media. They can do this while chilling in hammocks, which doesn’t quite seem to be in keeping with the holiday theme, but let’s go with it! There will be a ton of music, Coke samples and giveaways.

Come to The Deep South/HFSC/Student Center/Heal and check out all of these cool things from GPB! And don’t forget to RSVP to the Facebook event.

Take a Break With Santa Tomorrow Night

Breakfast with Santa

Dreading the upcoming week of finals? Excited about the end of classes? Hungry for pancakes? Whatever the reason, get ready for Breakfast with Santa Claus tomorrow night. At 10 p.m. in the Great Room of the HFSC, InterHall will be serving up free pancakes, hot chocolate and coffee.

Maybe you think this event is beneath you. But you know who else loves pancakes?

The President.

Also, Santa will be there, as you can see in the letter below.

You won’t want to miss out on this — even if it’s just for a study break. All I’m hoping for is that DeGioia shows up in a red suit and a large white beard.

Flight: Where All of Your Dreams Come True

RC Murals Flight Trampoline ParkIn the wake of last week’s Valentine’s Day stress, I’m excited to share something to lift everyone’s spirits. On Feb. 28, Flight will have its highly anticipated grand opening in Springfield, Va. What is Flight? According to DCist, it’s a trampoline park that consists of a trampoline field, foam pits and even dodgeball!

In just 22 minutes, you can get from campus to this little piece of heaven and have the flipping best time of your life. If you want to take a well-deserved break from studying for midterms, you can experience Flight in all of its glory from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Friday. For those willing to jump into action on the weekends, Flight is open 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. Saturday and 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sunday.

If you’re worried about missing the club atmosphere of Modern Thursdays or Malmaison, have no fear. Flight is soaring above expectations and hosting Club Flight, a trampoline area filled with lasers and music, on Fridays and Saturdays after 9 p.m. for ages 15 and up.

So put on some comfortable clothes and warm up your fingers to call an Uber, because Feb. 28 is just around the corner. And if you’re ever in Club Flight wondering why Beyoncé’s sneezing-sick beats keep getting requested for a hip-hopping good time, it’s probably a 4E blogger because we can’t wait to test this place out!
