Right now, Georgetown students are lining up for the chance to hear possible democratic nominee, Bernie Sanders, speak at Gaston at 2pm. Bernie will be speaking about democratic socialism in the United States.
While most Georgetown students know who Bernie is, 4E wants to provide you with even more background information. You know, just in case you aren’t in the know.
This is Vermont senator, Bernie Sanders:
In 1991, Sanders was elected into the House of Representatives:
Sometimes Bernie is very pensive, like when he listened to testimony by Acting Secretary of Veterans Affairs Sloan D. Gibson in 2014:
Sometimes he invokes FDR in his speeches, like in this picture:
He’s got a lot to say:
So if you are interested, you should get yourself to Gaston and listen:
Can’t make it today? No worries, The Hoya will be live tweeting the event starting around 2pm. Look out for updates on our twitter account!

A few weeks ago, 4E let you know that the free New York Times subscription was suddenly halted. Since this was just before the start of the semester, naturally every crazed student panicked.
Well, we are here to tell you today that the subscription is back. Yes, that mean you can access The New York Times with a valid Georgetown email.
All the instructions can be found here. 4E is so happy that we have this access back again!
Thanks for the news about the news, GUSA.
Okay Georgetown: how many times have you said, “I would kill for a pint of ice cream right now” or “If you bring me a pint of ice cream right now I’ll love you forever”?
Well now you can have ice cream delivered to your very own (office) door without the potential for jail time or a life-long attachment. Spread the word: Ben and Jerry’s ice cream trucks are on tour around DC delivering free scoops.
All you have to do is tweet them your location (@BenJerrysTour) and, according to their Twitter, they will come make your wildest dreams come true.
For those of you Ben and Jerry’s noobs, here are a few flavor recommendations:
Americone Dream (duh, Happy 4th)
Coffee Toffee Bar Crunch
Peanut Butter Cup
Bonus points to whoever gets the truck closest to campus. You have until the 18th to make this dream a reality. Get tweeting, Hoyas!

Thank John Carroll that it is finally summer. It is time to relax and say helloooo to summer.
While this relaxation is perfect right now, we will soon have to face the revelation that summer means jobs. We all might wanna spend our time exploring and living easy, but exploring costs money that we just don’t have. Why do all fun things need to cost money?!
Well, thankfully this summer, they do not have to. Recently, there has been an explosion of Facebook events advertising free events in major U.S. cities! Supposedly these events will contain updated lists of activities that you can participate in, free of charge.
As of now these events exist for cities like:
and a bunch of international cities as well!
Bring on the adventures and the #free things. And remember, the silent disco in Dupont is only a few weeks away!

With our favorite holiday, Georgetown Day, fast approaching, there is no way to control the excitement among Georgetown students!
We all know the deal, brunches, lawn, Foxfields and lots of mistakes. However, this year this is a new event to look out for on Georgetown Day weekend: the Georgetown Day Cup!
This Saturday, Apr. 25, GUSA Senate and The Corp will offer cash prices to the student group or organization that brings in the most empty red Solo cups and aluminum cans to one of three collection centers.
The group who brings in the most cups will be $300. Second place will receive $100 and third place will receive $50! All the money, all the prizes, how can you not say yes?
Even better, PNC Bank will be providing free reusable water bottles to the first 200 people to visit the three waste collection centers on the day of the event. Water bottles fo’ free!
This event emerges after a health and recyclable friendly semester, with the creation of Cups for Campus, another organization that focuses on minimizing the use of red Solo cups. Yay Georgetown students for taking such initiative this semester!
For more information about this contest, check out the Facebook event. Start saving those cups now!

Between now and Feb. 17 you can tweet a picture of Nutella pancakes @Nutella using the hashtag #NutellaPancakeSweeps and you’ll be entered to win a coupon for a free jar of Nutella!
Leo’s puts out Nutella every once in a blue moon, so whether you get the opportunity to snap a pic and devour the delicious pancakes remains to be seen.
This promotion is probably in celebration of World Nutella Day, which, for you uncultured commoners, is TODAY!
Here are a few ways to celebrate Nutella Day – which, by the way, should be celebrated everyday:
Nutella cinnamon rolls (just get the ready-made kind from Vittles and drown them in Nutella)
Banana Nutella smoothie
Nutella and peanut butter sandwich with bacon
Nutella milkshake (you can get one at the Bulldog Tavern)
Bacon covered in Nutella
Nutella and banana croissants (Pillsbury crescent roll dough with sliced banana and heaps of Nutella rolled inside)
If none of these suggestions moved you, you can always just grab a jar and a spoon. Go to the grocery store, get tweeting and enjoy World Nutella Day!

Yes, it is as simple as that.
As guacamole is the main food group of 4E, Chipotle is the Holy Grail. It is the one word, other than Beyoncé, that makes us go weak at the knees.
Since Chipotle is an amazing company, they are giving away burritos, tacos and bowls for free.
This was basically my reaction:
One tiny catch that I probably should mention: you have to order something with “Sofritas”.
Confused? Sofritas is a type of organic tofu that Chipotle has mixed with their amazing seasonings: chipotle chilis and roasted poblano peppers, to name a few.
Basically, Chipotle really wants this to be a thing. So much so that if you buy something with sofritas on Monday, Jan. 26 (tomorrow), they will give you a free entree to use between Jan. 27 and Feb. 28.
As a meat lover, I personally think that the temporary veganness is totally worth it. Honestly, who doesn’t love free Chipotle?
So spice up your life. Take the Sofritas challenge and become my hero.
Thanks City Pages for indulging our love of Chipotle and free things.

You heard right, the famous sub shop Capriotti’s is opening their third D.C.-area location tomorrow, Dec. 15. Please, try to control your excitement and hunger!
Where in D.C.? The one and only M Street, of course! The store is located at 3347 M Street NW in Georgetown, making it an easy commute for hungry Georgetown students.
Do you not know what Capriotti’s is? This amazing restaurant is an award-winning sandwich shop that makes delicious sandwiches from fresh ingredients daily.
It was named by USA Today as one of the “10 Great Places for a Surprising Sandwich”, and the company truly embodies that statement. Their sandwich “The Bobbie,” named the “best sandwich” by the Washington Post, is made with freshly roasted turkey, homemade stuffing, cranberry sauce and a pinch of mayo.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, they just did. In honor of their grand Georgetown opening, Capriotti’s is giving FREE “Bobbie” subs to the first 100 people in line tomorrow. I repeat, FREE AMAZING SANDWICHES.
How can you get one? Just make sure you start lining up at 11 a.m. tomorrow at Capriotti’s and you will receive a free “Bobbie.”
May the odds be ever in your favor!

Only three days after Chipotle founder and CEO Steve Ells delivered a lecture (which we live tweeted) on the Hilltop, tragedy has struck: The Chipotle restaurant located at 3255 M Street will no longer offer free drinks to Georgetown students.
The popular burrito spot is currently running a promotion in which Georgetown students do not have to pay for drinks, as long they present a valid university ID when paying for their meals. However, store manager Cisse Conde confirmed to 4E that the promotion will end on April 1, and soon, Hoyas will have to pay for their own beverages at the M Street location.
“We received an email this morning from our marketing strategies [department], saying that the drink promotion is culminating at the end of the month. It was not meant to go forever,” Conde said.
Here at 4E, we aren’t ones to wallow in such sadness. There are only nine days left until Chipotle’s free drink promotion ends, so until then, you’ll find us down at the M Street eatery, guzzling down as many free beverages as humanly possible.
